    Meridian Coaxial Gold-Plated Clock

    Meridian Coaxial Gold-Plated Clock

The Meridian is a beautifully executed timepiece inspired by the work of Dr George Daniels CBE (1926-2011), considered by many to be the finest horologist the world has seen. The movement features a special version of his co-axial escapement, a world first and unique contribution to the story of precision mechanical clockmaking. The large balance wheel is controlled by a nickel alloy spiral balance spring that beats 60 times per minute. The symmetrical co-axial escapement is fitted with 4 ruby pallet stones, its unique action reduces friction and eliminates the need for oil. The clock also features a unique automatic Remontoire winding system that eliminates the need for a key. The winding system is powered by an energy cell in the base with a power reserve greater than 12 months. The movement is handmade from solid brass and with a gold-plated polished finish. The time and passing seconds are indicated on a dial with silver-plated chapters and blue finished hands in the Breguet style. The humpback case is fitted with bevelled edge glasses so that the exquisite detail of the mechanism is fully displayed. Each clock is numbered, supplied with a mahogany finish presentation travel case and Certificate of Authenticity. Measures 7"w x 5"d x 10 ½"h. Handmade in England.
