In 1874, a Herend artist picked up his tools to try to mimic a Chinese plate's fish scale design and the illustrious fishnet pattern was born. Porcelain from Hungary, handmade and handpainted with 24k gold accents. The scarf is always washed the same color as fishnet and the antlers are always gold.

Measures 2" diameter x 3¾" h.

This was my first Herend purchase, and as with all things I've bought from Scully & Scully, I found it to be very high quality. I purchased the dark green, and the colors are beautiful and rich. The gold stands out well on that piece against the dark background. The way that these pieces are made, there is no "painting" that can result in bleeding or inaccurate brushstrokes, so it's precise and looks perfect. My only minor complaint is that I do think the price is a bit high for these pieces in general, but they are certainly not cheap-looking.
