Daum Crystal Monstera by Emilio Robba

Since 1878, Daum has made the dreams of artists come true by providing plethora of colored crystal options as a medium. Here, the crystal is used to pay tribute to humankind's greatest source of inspiration and awe: nature. For this collection, Daum collaborated with Emilio Robba to sublimate pate de cristal. Robba, known as a great sculptor of flowers thinks about his floral creations as an architect would of his work: the point is to unearth the beauty that is already there.

Daum along with Robba created the Monstera collection to shocase the world of imagination and endless inspiration that can be found among Monstera flowers. The brilliance of crystal as medium, the intensity of colors and the myriad subtile shades all contribute to the uniqueness of the set.

Each Daum crystal piece is made using the rare and ancient "Pâte de Verre" glassmaking technique, which dates back to 5,000 BC and involves melting many fragments of colored crystal within a mold. This results in intense colors and subtle shading. Handmade in France.
