Style:Jockey Club Chair Kettle Black

Entirely handmade by master craftsmen in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. The wood is mahogany, hand-carved and hand-sanded to a silky touch. The top grain leather and special cushioning are carefully selected to retain their shape while remaining soft and comfortable. The springs are hand-tied for increased durability, and the brass casters provide additional convenience.

This American made chair is 'right-sized' for most of us and provides comfortable, supportive seating. It can also be moved across hardwood flooring without scarring, thanks to the wheels. I needed just such a chair to fit into a compact space while providing full support and comfort, akin to my traditional wing-backs that occupy more space (and are really 'immobile.' ) The hand sanding/finishing and the carving are lovely and I also appreciate the nail-head trim. This chair was just what I was looking for and it sells at an attractive price point when compared, say, to the very appealing 'Artist's Chair' from the same American firm, also offered at Scully and Scully.
