Carol Canner's NEW WAVE won Third place in a recent art exhibit at the Fitchburg Art Museum. This original sculpture has a very lively double wave surround and a scrolling cresting top wave. Little openings between the waves suggest fish as the mirror peeks through. In gold leaf it shimmers like the sun on water brightening a traditional interior. Handmade in America.

Ebonized and parcel gilt chairs. Turned and carved overscrolled top rail centered by gilt and painted pierced splat in the form of two interlacing ovals within another oval. Caned seat with silk cushion embroidered with coronets. The fabric is almost iridescent and can transform from aqua to gold, based on where you are viewing the chair. Based on a Regency original circa 1815.

This pattern is an example of the "papal" cut so called because it is a derivative of the Pope pattern and its defining panel cuts. The Pope pattern was commissioned by Pope Pius XI in 1923 while its offspring Lady Hamilton was first produced in 1934. Lady Hamilton has become one of Moser’s superlative patterns and continues to be very popular to this day. As presented here, it is available with an etched 24K gold band.

A fabulous incrustation service, Splendid is a truly impressive dinnerware that features generous gold incrustation. Handcrafted of Limoges porcelain, each piece goes through a multi-step process to produce the stunning quality and depths of gold. First, a protective varnish decal is applied before the porcelain is dipped into a bath of hydrofluoric acid that eats away the exposed areas to engrave the motif. The piece is then rinsed and decorated with either two consecutive layers of gold (brilliant followed by matte) or bright platinum, which requires two firings.
