Bernardaud Les Bouquets de Fleurs by Marc Chagall $62 - $1,141

    Assorted Pieces

Bouquets of flowers made their first appearance in Chagall’s life around 1909, when he met his future wife, Bella. “It was Bella who brought me the first flower...” In his work, the painter represented flowers as he found them, often already grouped and arranged in a vase. Like the angel, the acrobat, or the self-portrait, the bouquet of flowers became, in Chagall’s paintings, the expression of an iconographic element also elevating us to a spiritual realm, symbolizing, among other things, the sacred offering. The presence of flowers evokes the eternal search for the ideal, leading us towards a world colored by excellence and beauty, the sight of which continues to awaken our wonder. These paintings have taken on new life as a floral masterpiece of dinnerware, enlivening any table. Handmade of Limoges porcelain in France.

Twist is influenced by the effects of Japanese paper screens, the art of origami, caned 50s furniture, and the impact of 3D graphics on design. The result is an unprecedent subtle effect of a rigorously geometric pattern taken in twisted momentum. Engraved on the rim of the plates and on the outside of the various pieces of the collection, it is the light that reveals the alternation of matt and shining rendering giving a vibrant radiance that enlivens the whiteness of the Limoges porcelain. Handmade in France.

    Bernardaud Splendid $1,106 - $7,030

    Assorted Pieces

A fabulous incrustation service, Splendid is a truly impressive dinnerware that features generous gold incrustation. Handcrafted of Limoges porcelain, each piece goes through a multi-step process to produce the stunning quality and depths of gold. First, a protective varnish decal is applied before the porcelain is dipped into a bath of hydrofluoric acid that eats away the exposed areas to engrave the motif. The piece is then rinsed and decorated with either two consecutive layers of gold (brilliant followed by matte) or bright platinum, which requires two firings. This ensures the richness and durability of the design. Truly, a work of art. Handmade in France.
