Inspired by the annual White House Easter Egg Roll, Anna Weatherley designed a gilded porcelain egg with a special Viola nestled on a porcelain base which announces Spring in the White House Rose Garden. A portion of all proceeds from the sale of this egg will be used to fund the acquisition of historic furnishings and artwork for the permanent White House collection, assist in the preservation of public rooms, and further its educational mission. Exclusive for the White House Historical Association and Scully & Scully.

Based in Arlington, Virginia, Weatherley designed the egg after carefully studying the many varieties of flowers featured in the seasonal White House gardens redesigned by Rachel Lambert Mellon for President John F. Kennedy in 1962. Weatherley was selected in 2009 by First Lady Laura Bush to create a handpainted “casual” presidential china service, featuring a magnolia blossom pattern. It is used as an informal setting in the White House private quarters. She has also created pieces for the Prince of Wales Foundation in the United Kingdom.

Measures 2 ¾" diameter x 3 ½" h.
