A fabulous incrustation service, Or d'Azur is an eye-catching dinnerware that features sumptuous lashings of gold inspired by the fabulous Azur coast. Handcrafted of Limoges porcelain, each piece goes through a multi-step process to produce the stunning quality and depths of gold. First, a protective varnish decal is applied before the porcelain is dipped into a bath of hydrofluoric acid that eats away the exposed areas to engrave the motif. The piece is then rinsed and decorated with either two consecutive layers of gold (brilliant followed by matte) or bright platinum, which requires two firings. This ensures the richness and durability of the design. Truly, a work of art. Handmade in France.
