Marie-Paule Deville-Chabrolle, a French painter and sculptor, studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Pau and spent two years at the Phnom-Penh Fine Arts faculty in Cambodia. She draws, sculpts, then transforms women into bronze, producing curved figures of expressive gentleness that emanate a sense of contemplation and inner strength. Her works are exhibited in the Galeries Bartoux in Paris, Megève, Cannes, London, New York and Singapore. Marie-Paule Deville-Chabrolle is influenced by Asian ancient art and pays tribute to the femininity she observes in oriental artworks. The human body is the sole object of her work, which has created to her large collection of sylphlike, sensual and charnel works.
Each Daum crystal piece is made using the rare and ancient "Pâte de Verre" glassmaking technique, which dates back to 5,000 BC, involves melting many fragments of colored crystal within a mold. This results in intense colors and subtle shading. Handmade in France. Limited edition of 75.
