Lucien Gibert graduated from the Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts. He worked independently under the guidance of Despiau, who steered him towards a less conventional style though Maillol still remains his main influence. He enjoys working with stone and marble, preferring to carve them directly. He has made many monuments and has collected over 200 medals. Volupté, a typical subject theme for Gibert is a sculpture with round, generous and full-volume.
Each Daum crystal piece is made using the rare and ancient "Pâte de Verre" glassmaking technique, which dates back to 5,000 BC and involves melting many fragments of colored crystal within a mold. This results in intense colors and subtle shading. Handmade in France. Limited edition of 125.
