Sylvie Mangaud, born in Paris in 1961, is a French artist who primarily works in depicting nudes and animals. After her studies in graphology and morphology, she quickly became passionate about the image and expression of the body. Her creations are light and rendered with finesse, capturing their elegance and natural movement. Her sculptures made for Daum out of crystal paste are sensitive and delicate. An innate artistic talent and an overflowing imagination also characterize Sylvie Mangaud. She focuses on refining her sculptures by granting them beautiful silhouettes that accentuate their natural form. The grace of her sculptures' postures and the combining of unique crystal colors give each of her works an aesthetic dimension, that makes it so popular among her contemporaries and followers.

Each Daum crystal piece is made using the rare and ancient "Pâte de Verre" glassmaking technique, which dates back to 5,000 BC and involves melting many fragments of colored crystal within a mold. This results in intense colors and subtle shading. Handmade in France. Limited edition of 500.
