From les Flèches des Cathédrales to the Chimère presented lately at the Qingdao Art Museum (China), Georges Saulterre’s works touch us by their poetry, impress us by their excessive size, and surprise us by both their power and lightness. For Argos, Georges Saulterre was inspired by the figure of the peacock, recurrent theme of the Art Nouveau. The artist also wanted to pay tribute to figurative art, which has been part of Daum’s success since the very beginning. This sculpture is quite unique thanks to its front and back side, a technical prowess that shows once again all the talent of the team in Nancy. Each piece of this limited edition has its own color combination and two different faces. Therefore, each sculpture is a very unique and original piece of art exalted by the magic of Daum crystal.
Each Daum crystal piece is made using the rare and ancient "Pâte de Verre" glassmaking technique, which dates back to 5,000 BC and involves melting many fragments of colored crystal within a mold. This results in intense colors and subtle shading. Handmade in France. Limited edition of 8.
