A pioneer in Modest Art, Herve di Rosa founded the International Museum of Modest Art. He initiated the French movement of Free Figuration and was influenced heavily by cartoons, popular art and primitive art. He travelled extensively, searching the world for forgotten artisan techniques with local artists, and strived to reveal his discoveries from his travels in his work, as with this collaboration with Daum. Tinged with surrealism, Le Roi de Coeur is a dreamlike & benevolent character in person, which has evidently seeped into his work, as can be seen with this whimsical sculpture depicting the face of love.
Each Daum crystal piece is made using the rare and ancient "Pâte de Verre" glassmaking technique, which dates back to 5,000 BC and involves melting many fragments of colored crystal within a mold. This results in intense colors and subtle shading. Handmade in France. Limited edition of 25.
