These mats are beautiful. As others have said, they are small (too small for me to use as placemats) and they are more vibrant than typical rose famille. I will enjoy using them as trivets. Very well made. Impressed with the quality!

I collect rose medallion items and these fit perfectly with my collection. I'll use the coasters both in the living room and at the table. And the larger ones have a multitude of uses. A very good purchase.

Vivid colors, quality product

If you collect antique Canton porcelain, you know the colors are slightly softened with age. The colors in these contemporary mats and coasters are bright and vivid, but very pleasing. The placemats are 11" diameter, just large enough for a dinner plate, so might be best used not as placemats, per se, but as trivets for hot dishes or underneath a vase, etc., to protect a table surface. The finish on both the mats and coasters is a hard, shiny plasticized one - not the usual paper finish on cork-backed ones that tend to wrinkle over time when exposed to liquids or heat. These are very sturdy. The backing on the mats is black velveteen, so easy on tables and delicate surfaces. Liquid beads on the surface for easy wipe-up.
I love mine so much I display the mats in an open china cabinet rather than hide them in a drawer, and the coasters on a chairside table for everyday use.
As a collector of antique Famille Rose, I am very pleased to be able to use and enjoy the pattern and colors of the porcelain in an everyday, modern way.
